About the Matra Owner Registry
The Matra Owner Registry was created to bring together Matra owners from around the world and to get a better idea of where these cars are today.
Matras are becoming increasingly rare. Many cars have changed hands several times, have been restored, are still waiting for restoration, or have simply disappeared from the road. There is no complete record of how many are still around, or where they are located.
That is what we are trying to change with this registry.
Owners can add their Matra to the map, including the model, year, location, condition and, if they wish, a story or photographs of the car. The aim is not to collect as much information as possible, but to create a useful and interesting overview of the surviving Matras and the people who own them.
The registry is open to owners of all Matra models. Whether you have a Murena that has been in your family for years, a Bagheera undergoing a long restoration, a Djet that is still regularly driven, or a project that has not seen the road for decades — we would be happy to include it.
We also hope the registry will make it easier for Matra owners to discover other cars and enthusiasts in their area or elsewhere in the world. Seeing another Matra on the map can be the start of a conversation, a meeting, or simply the discovery of another interesting car.
The registry is maintained by Carjoy, and will continue to grow as more owners add their cars.
Why we started the registry
At Carjoy, we have been working with Matras for many years. Over that time we have seen many different cars come through the workshop, from completely original examples to cars that have been rebuilt from the ground up.
We often find ourselves wondering where certain cars ended up after they left us, or how many examples of a particular model are still being driven today.
The Owner Registry is our attempt to answer some of those questions and, hopefully, to connect some of the owners along the way.
