Carjoy’s engineers removed the original Murena engine and installed the Alfa Romeo 164’s renowned 3.0L V6, secured with a purpose-built custom sub-frame designed and fabricated in-house. The engine was completely overhauled in 2021 with numerous new components and has seen minimal use since. This is not a rough conversion – it is a carefully engineered build by a specialist workshop with over 35 years of Matra experience. The Bosch Motronic ML 4.1 fuel injection system ensures reliable, consistent performance, and the transverse engine alignment keeps the Murena’s excellent weight distribution largely intact.

The Alfa Romeo 3.0L V6 produces 186 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, delivered through a 5-speed manual gearbox.
