This 1983 Matra Murena 2.2 in Rouge Mephisto is a genuine barn find, having spent approximately twenty years in storage. The engine starts and runs, a test drive is possible by appointment, and the car offers a remarkably solid foundation for a full restoration. The galvanised chassis and glass-fibre body have held up well, with rust mainly limited to the doors. Two good replacement doors are included, and the original interior remains beautifully preserved. A rare opportunity to bring an original Murena 2.2 back to life.

Engine, drivetrain & underbody
The 2.2 litre engine starts and runs after approximately twenty years off the road. A test drive is possible by appointment for serious buyers. The car is offered as a restoration project and will not be presented for an MOT. The galvanised steel chassis provides an excellent structural foundation, and remarkably little rust is present beyond the doors.
Exterior & interior
Finished in Rouge Mephisto — one of the most striking colours available on the Murena. The doors show rust and require attention, but two good replacement doors are included with the car. The polyester bodywork is in remarkably good condition, with only a small area of damage on the roof noted. No other polyester damage has been found. The original taillights are in excellent condition and remain with the car. The current wheels can be exchanged for original Murena wheels if preferred.
Inside, the interior remains beautifully original and is in good condition considering the car’s age and twenty years in storage. The iconic three-seat layout is fully intact and provides an excellent basis for the restoration.
